MATHEMATICS ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE DEGREE WITH MTC

At Rainy, our Mathematics AS Degree with MTC is designed to prepare you for a career teaching mathematics at the secondary level or for a career in the field of mathematics. The degree is guaranteed to transfer to the Department of Mathematics at Bemidji State University and includes the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum in satisfaction of all lower division requirements.To be eligible for graduation with the Mathematics AS Degree with MTC, you must satisfy the following requirements:
==> Must complete the 40 credits of the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MTC) with a 2.0 GPA; as well as the additional Associate in Science (AS) requirements to equal 60 credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all courses completed.

MATH 2220 5 cr. Calculus I (BSU MATH 2471)
MATH 2230 5 cr. Calculus II (BSU MATH 2472)
MATH 2240* 4 cr. Calculus III (BSU MATH 2480)
MATH 2280* 4 cr. Differential Equations with Linear Algebra (BSU MATH 2490)HLTH 2000** 2 cr. Chemical Abuse Education (BSU HLTH 3400)
* MATH 2240 and 2280 will only be offered with sufficient enrollment.
** HLTH 2000 is required for the Mathematics Education degree.Additional credits to total 60 and satisfy the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum Goals 1 through 10.
NOTES:
* This degree articulates to the Mathematics Bachelor of Science Degree (Teaching and Non-Teaching) at Bemidji State University (BSU).
* Students unsure about pursuing mathematics or secondary licensure for teaching mathematics are encouraged to complete RRCC’s Associate in Arts degree.
* Students not prepared to take MATH 2220 their first semester will need more than two years to complete this degree program.
